Dzongri Trek

Dzongri trek, for those with little time and less inclination to undergo the rigours of hard mountain trekking, a trek up to the meadows will offer the benefits of having experienced a truly spectacular alpine trek.

The trail runs through moss-laden forests of oak, chestnut, pine, maple, magnolia and rhododendron culminating in the meadows of Dzongri at 4,000 meters with exceptional mountain views. It is a naturalist’s paradise. These forests harbor hundreds of varieties of wild plants, exotic orchids vie for attention with equally spectacular varieties of birds and butterflies. Some of the animals found along this trail are the Himalayan Black Bear, Barking Deer, Musk Deer, Marbled Cat, Langur and the Red Panda.

 

Itinerary:

Day 01 Upon arrival drive to Yuksom/hotel
Day 02 Trek to Tshoka. (10000 ft) Yuksom to Tshoka 6 hrs (B,L,D)
Day 03 Rest day and excursion around (B,L,D)
Day 04 Trek to Dzongri (13290 ft) 4 hrs walk (B,L,D)
Day 05 Dzongri Excursion for view (B,L,D)
Day 06 Trek to Tshoka (B,L,D)
Day 07 Trek to Yuksom/hotel (B,L)
Day 08 Drive to Darjeeling Darjeeling/hotel (B)
Day 09 Sightseeing of Darjeeling/hotel (B)
Day 10 Day at leisure/hotel (B)
Day 11 Drive to Bagdora (India) or Bhadrapur (Nepal) for return journey (B)
