Tourist service fee on air tickets

The Tourist Service Fee (TSF), collected by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) from every departing visitor, will be included in air tickets from July 16.
Now onwards, the international airlines will collect TSF from departing foreign visitors and will later provide it to the NTB. The government introduced the new provision through the budget speech for 2009-10 fiscal. The government has mandated the NTB to collect a maximum of Rs 1,000 per person as TSF.
However, the NTB has not fixed the new fee. Though the government has mandated to collect as much as Rs 1,000 from every departing foreign visitor, it has been taking just Rs 500 per person.
"We are yet to decide on new fee structure," an official at the NTB said.
